William Sechovec Sr., a devoted police officer and beloved family member, passed away peacefully at his home on October 24, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on September 19, 1945, in Berwyn, Illinois and grew up in Villa Park,IL, he dedicated his life to serving the community of Lake County, IL, where he built a commendable career as a police officer. His outgoing personality made him a cherished figure among his colleagues and the residents he served.

William was known for his deep care for family, which stood as one of his proudest accomplishments. He created lasting bonds, always being there for his loved ones. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Johnston(Randall), his brother, Russell Sechovec(Glenda), Sister in law Roberta Sechovec and his nephew, Greg Schalla, and a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly for the kindness and support he showed throughout their lives.

William is predeceased by his beloved son William Sechovec jr., Parents, Marie and Edward Sechovec, Sister, Maria Schalla, and his brother, Edward Sechovec Jr. Their memories will be eternally held by those who knew and loved them.

An avid car enthusiast, William cherished his hobbies and shared this passion with family and friends, always finding joy in the details and stories that cars hold. His warmth, dedication, and love for life left a lasting imprint on all those around him.

His legacy as a guardian of the community and a loving family member will be honored and remembered by many. William Sechovec Sr. will be greatly missed.
