William Keith Borland

William “Bill” Borland passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024. Bill grew up in Omaha Nebraska, the beloved son of Doug and Lenore Borland. He attended undergraduate and law school at Loyola University, Chicago (1964, 1967). During this time, he also met and married the love of his life Kathleen Landreth Borland. Bill and Kathy were dedicated partners for over 58 years. An insurance attorney, he began his career at Allstate in Northbrook and served as General Counsel for Chambers Life Insurance Company in Naperville. He consulted professionally as a certified re-insurance arbitrator and served on the City of Chicago’s Retiree Health Plan Commission. As an amateur Chicago historian, he particularly loved living downtown at Lake Point Tower for 29 years. He traveled the world taking beautiful photographs of all his many adventures with Kathy. On moving to Covenant Village in Northbrook, he shared his curiosity and welcoming intellect with everyone by leading the Men’s Breakfast Speaker Series. Above all, his family was the most important part of his life including his unending admiration and support of his wife, three daughters (Collette Borland, Angela Goodrich, Monique (Brad) Howard), five grandchildren (Hugh (Noel Tijerina) Lasauskas, Lewis (Danielle) Lasauskas, Corissa Goodrich, Rigel Goodrich and Carter Howard), two great granddaughters (Leia and Arya Lasauskas), as well as his many nieces, nephews and their children. On Saturday, November 23, a private family memorial service will begin at 1 pm (online viewing available). The service will be followed by a public reception from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Covenant Village in the Evergreen Community Room, 2111 Foxglove Dr., Northbrook, IL, 60062.
