Wanda J. Escher, 94, of Chicago's Old Irving Park neighborhood formerly of Ironwood, MI entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. Wanda was the loving daughter of the late George J. Semenak and Loretta Marie Bauman Semenak. Loving mother of Robert (Colleen) Escher, John Escher, Jayne Escher, Kathleen Escher, Tina (Darryl) Cunningham, Julie Burzinski, Peggy (Kevin) Kelly and Tracy (Mario) DiVito. Cherished grandma of Michael Patrick, Jeffrey, Jennifer, John, Johnny, Taylor, Michael, Erin, Emily, Matthew, Joseph, Neal, Sophie, Mia, and Jacklyn. Great grandmother of 13. Dear sister of the late George, Robert, Harold, Ron and Loretta. Fond aunt and friend to many.
Wanda was dedicated to IHM Parish and School where her children attended. Wanda had a love of crocheting. She was a staple to her beloved home of 64 years. A wonderful friend to many neighbors over the years. She was happiest being with her children. Wanda was guided by her strong Catholic faith and loyalty to family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She became "Ma Escher" to everyone her eight children brought home over the years and all were welcome. She will forever be missed for her ability to patiently listen and make you feel like everything would be ok, and especially missed for her chicken noodle soup, mashed potatoes, orange Jell-O mold and the simple words "Hi Honey", and " Love You More". Until we meet again.
