Valentin (Val) DiCosola passed away on October 10, 2024, in Chicago, IL. Born on January 6, 1937, Val's life was marked by her radiant personality and generous spirit. Her ability to light up any room with her smile and positive energy was unmatched. Val was particularly known for her inclusivity, often bringing together people, especially those without close family or friends nearby. An avid card player and reader of romance novels, she also cherished her daily walks and making her legendary meatloaf and potato salad for loved ones.
Val's laughter was contagious, and her presence was a source of joy for everyone around her. She truly was one of a kind, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Val is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph; her daughter, Lisa Bluhm; her son, Robert Bluhm (Traci); grandsons, Erik and Kyle Bluhm; along with many dear family members, friends, and neighbors.
Services for Val are yet to be determined, with further information to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association to aid in the fight against dementia, a cruel disease we pray gets wiped out. Val's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
