Tonia Johnson

Tonia Johnson, a beloved mother, partner, and friend, passed away on September 23, 2024 in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Born on December 22, 1963, Tonia was known for her fun-loving spirit, caring nature, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.

Tonia is survived by her partner, Kevin Dillenger and father of her children Michael Moore. She proudly leaves behind her children: Rico, Laquisha, Monique, Antwyn Bowie Johnson, Ishia Johnson, Tenisha, Tekeasha, and Tomeika Curry. Tonia was a cherished figure in her family, taking immense pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reflecting her loving nature and commitment to family. She also left behind a niece Nefeteria a nephew Ramon and great nieces and nephews.

Tonia was preceded in death by her her devoted mother, Juanita Johnson, son, Antonio, and her sister, Annette. The loss of these dear family members weighed heavily on her heart.

Outside of her family life, Tonia enjoyed watching soap operas while sipping on 211 steel reserve beer, pursuits that intertwined her passion for storytelling with simple pleasures. She cultivated friendships and created memories that resonated deeply with those who crossed her path.

A visitation to honor Tonia's life will take place on October 5, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at South Chicago Chapel, located at 2939 E 95th St, Chicago, IL 60617.

Tonia Johnson will always be remembered for her infectious joy and the love that she shared with all. And although her grandson said she cheated in cards all the time and technically he won but he misses and loves her. Her legacy continues to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us all of the profound impact one individual can have on others.
