Thomas Van Meter

Thomas Kyle Van Meter of Crystal Lake, IL passed away February 7th, 2025 at 41 years old after his painful and courageous battle with cancer. 

He was a hardworking man who never stopped putting others first. He would have given everyone the world if he could have. 

He brought love and laughter to many friends and family. He especially cherished his daughter Emma, who he still watches over. He will be dearly missed by his sweet mother Silvia Gonzalez Van Meter, his loving girlfriend Adrienne Knowles, and his siblings Krystal (Matt) Carter, and Billy (Jessica Darling) Van Meter. He adored his nieces and nephew, Scarlett & Sophia Kylee Van Meter (named in his honor) and Jack Carter. 

His closest friends, Josh and Jackie, were also a huge part of his life. Their love and friendship was an invaluable support to him.

Our hearts are heavy, but he was well loved and cared for to the end, and we know he’s resting with a heart full of gratitude and peace for all that his life was.
