On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, our hearts grew heavy as we said goodbye to a beloved father, brother, and friend, Robert Earl Jenkins Sr. He was born on January 1, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, to the loving care of Flossie Grear and Hal Jenkins. Robert was one of seven siblings who shared in a bond that could never be broken.
Growing up in the bustling streets of Chicago, Robert's dreams led him to Shoop Academy and later to Morgan Park High School. He had aspirations of excelling in basketball but found equal joy in music, fashion, and dancing. Those who knew Robert will always remember his infectious smile - a beacon of light that touched the lives of many.
Recognized as a natural leader and a guardian to those around him, Robert's presence was a source of strength and comfort. His unwavering love resonated with everyone he encountered. As the sun set on his time here on earth, Robert was called home by the Lord to reunite with his dear mother Flossie Grear, father Hal Jenkins, brother Calvin Jenkins, and son Rashaud Weatherall.
In this time of mourning, we find solace in the memories we hold dear. Robert leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by five siblings Eloise, Roberta, Joyce, David Jenkins, and Harold Jenkins as well as his three children: Robert E. Jenkins, Shakema Rogers, and Shanae Jenkins. His spirit lives on through his seven cherished grandchildren: Jalen Jenkins, Stephon Sellers, Damari Jenkins, Cherish Sellers, Cameron Jenkins, Summer Jenkins, and London Jenkins.
May we find comfort in the shared moments and the love that will forever reside within our hearts as we honor the life of Robert Earl Jenkins Sr.
