Raymond Paul Stivenson

Raymond Paul Stivenson, 74, passed away on December 26, 2024. He was born on June 16, 1950, in Toledo Ohio to the late Dean and Sara Stivenson.
A proud graduate of Libbey High School's Class of 1968, Raymond went on to serve his country in the United States Navy, where his adventures took him around the world. Following his military service he worked out of UA Local 50, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union before building a career spanning nearly four decades at Ford Motor Company's Flat Rock facility, where he was a dedicated member of the UAW until his retirement.
In his retirement years, Papa Ray found his greatest joy in supporting his grandchildren, never missing their sporting events or theatrical performances. He was also a skilled handyman who took pride in fixing things around the house and spent many happy hours pursuing his passion for woodworking.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Sara Nelson and her husband Michael; his cherished grandchildren Emily (15), Bradyn (13), Theodore (5), Elizabeth (3) and his faithful companion, Bella; his brother, Larry (Judy) Stivenson; sister, Peggy (Norman) Byrdsong; nieces, Alicia Mitchell; Cheri Lynn Stivenson and Jami (Eric) Moenter; a nephew Larry Jr. Stivenson and many loving extended family members, and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara (Gretchie) Stivenson.
A service and burial will be held on March 21st at 10:30am at Toledo Memorial Park, where Raymond's ashes will be laid to rest beside his wife, Barbara. A private Celebration of Life honoring both Ray and Barbara will follow the service.
