Marcus Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Marcus Smith, who passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 59 in Sauk Village, IL. He was born on February 16, 1965, to James and Juanita Smith, Muskogee, Ok.

Marcus was a graduate of Muskogee High School, class of 1983, where he made many friends and lasting memories. He went on to work at Linn Mathes Construction until his retirement in 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Ayo Saunders Smith, 5 sisters, 1 brother, a stepdaughter and a legacy of love and laughter. Although Marcus had no children of his own, he was a cherished uncle, cousin and friend to many.

When Marcus wasn't busy at work, you could often find him indulging in his favorite hobbies of fishing and watching sports. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and flower beds, creating a beautiful and welcoming space for all who visited.

Though we will miss Marcus dearly, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and watching over us from above. Rest in peace, Marcus.
