Lisa Atansio, known for her kindness, generosity, compassion, and love for animals, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones, on August 25, 2024. Born on July 31, 1965, in Park Ridge, Illinois, Lisa inspired and touched the lives of many during her time on this Earth.

Lisa shared a deep and loving bond with her wife, Maria Carandang. They were united in marriage for 11 remarkable years, having been together for a total of 17 years. Their relationship was a testament to love and partnership filled with support, loyalty, and understanding. Lisa's love for animals was evident in the many pets she embraced throughout her life. Her two current boys, Hunter and Ryder, brought so much joy and happiness and completed her and Maria's family.

Lisa was a proud owner of Board No More, a successful petsitting service with long term clients who can attest to Lisa's dedication and hard work. Lisa also served as the lead veterinary technician at Elmwood Grove Animal Hospital and at River Forest Animal Hospital, where her commitment to caring for animals and drive to provide mentorship was evident in every aspect of her work. She will be remembered for her gentle, fun-loving spirit and her tireless dedication.

Lisa had many talents and interests. She was a self-taught painter who conveyed her creativity through pet portraits for her clients who lost their beloved fur babies. Lisa was also an artistic baker who shared her beautiful and delicious baked goods to help others celebrate special occasions. As a competitive athlete, she enjoyed playing tennis along with many other sports throughout her life. Lisa had a tremendous love of nature and enjoyed traveling and exploring the world.

Lisa is survived by her loving family. She leaves behind her wife, Maria, her sister, Nicole (Milan) Sipic, and her brother, Tony (Carmela) Atansio. Lisa also leaves a legacy of affection through her niece, Olivia Sipic, and her nephew, Joey Atansio.

As we remember Lisa Atansio, we celebrate her life, her work, and her unwavering love for those around her. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
