Leonard Wright

Leonard Dale Wright, 77, of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2025, at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington, Illinois. Born on October 22, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the cherished son of Martin and Sophie (Sibiski) Wright.

Leonard will be remembered by his sons, Leonard (Ann) Pond, Jerry Pond and Timothy Pond. He was a proud grandfather to Ashley (John) Sweat, Amber Burden, Leonard Pond Jr., Kaitlyn Pond, Kyle Pond, Jerry Pond Jr., Joey Pond and Savhanna Pond. His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren Kaydience Sweat, Kaylynn Sweat, John Sweat Jr., Wrenleigh Sweat, Emberlyn Burden and Tatum Pond.

He is also survived by sisters Sharon (the late Nick) Davidson and Judy (the late Hugh) Saynor, as well as a wide circle of nieces and nephews, who will carry forward his memory: Therese (Austin) MacRae, Marcella (Greg) Rockenbach, Cecile (Bob) Pinto, Vince (Lynn) Wright, Shirley (Danny) Thomas, Larry Wells, Diane Curry, Jimmie (Lee) Edelman, Larry (Robin) Edelman, Brenda Holtdorf, Joe Edelman, Robert Edelman, Kathy (David) Sager, Barbara Chromchak, Debbie (Bret) Lambourne, Laura (Paul) Cacciatore, Ron (Janine) Wright, Ken (Shannon) Wright, Gary (Denise) Wright, Tammy (John) Endsley, Ron (Lisa) Romanelli, Mike (Liz) Romanelli, Suzie (Curt) Cook, Kim (Eric) Windler, Chris Saynor, Jeff (Anna) Saynor, Cyndi (Trent) Klabunde, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Leonard found great joy through the many cherished friendships he formed during his 26 years at Lakes Bowl, where he impacted the lives of many.

He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Sophie (Sibiski) Wright, his brothers; Don (Pat) Wright, Ray (Carol) Wright, Richard (Ann) Wright, sisters Marlene (Wally) Wells, Darlene (Claude) Edelman, twins Anna and Marie Wright, niece Claudia Edelman and great nephews Jared Wright and Jordan Romanelli.

Please join us in celebrating his life at Lakes Bowl, 601 Railroad Ave., Round Lake, IL 60073 on April 26th, 2025 at 1pm. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
