Lana Body

Lana Body was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. She passed away peacefully on 12/28/2024, at the age of 64. Lana was born on August 16, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois to Arllissie Wade and L.C Body. Lana was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lana was a dedicated and loving mother to her five children:  Chaquita Body, Lena Body, Shameka Body, Tyree Body and Latoya Wade. She cherished the time spent with her family and took great pride in her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren, including LaToya Johnson, Lacarter Body, Lexus Wade, Aubrey Harris, Dontrell Frazier, Marcellus Liggins, Kenterrius Johnson, Akira Johnson, Kiaria Johnson, and her great-grandson, Trevor Gavin, brought immense joy to her life. Lana’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support will be forever remembered by her family. 

Lana's bond with her siblings was equally profound. She is survived by her loving sisters: Linda Wade, Nadine Wade, her loving niece. Techia Wade, Tiffany Wade, Christina Wade, Tameka Wade, and Sabrina Wade, as well as her nephew Dante Wade and Tyrone Wade and great nephew Kevin Wade. Their memories together, filled with laughter and unconditional love, remain cherished treasures.

As we reflect on Lana’s life, it is evident that she was a pillar of strength and love within her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

No Good Byes, See you later.

Mom, the moment you left me my heart was torn in two. 

One side filled with heartache and the other died with you

I often lie awake at night. When the world is fast asleep, 

and I take a walk down memory lane, with tears upon my cheeks

Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday

But missing you is heartache, that never goes away 

I hold you tightly with my heart and there you will remain

until the joyous day arrives that we all meet you again
