Katherine Garza

Katherine (Kawaski) Garza, 66, of Chicago Illinois passed away on April 9, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of Joe Garza and the loving and proud mother of Thomas (Nicole) Garza. She was also the loving grandmother of Amelia.  Katherine was blessed with many sibling including Diana Halweig, Sherry Kimura, Erin Love as well as Thomas, Bob and Roy Kawaski.  She is preceded in death by siblings Joe Kawaski, Gordon Kawaski, Dave Love, Laura Kawaski, and Jackie Love.

"Kat" loved children and cats.  She was a licensed Nanny, but became a stay-at-home mom with her son Thomas, and quickly became the stay-at-home mom for the entire neighborhood.  Her door was always open for children and family.   She provided support and comfort to many.  She loved to cook.  Her ethnic dishes sharing her Japanese and Irish heritage, and her family's Latino heritage were well known, as was her turkey, gravy and ham.  Kat was a generous woman, who gladly opened her door, and support to many.  She made many hearts and stomachs full.
