June Stephanie Johnson

June Stephanie (Kaczmarek) Johnson passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024 at home at Church Creek in Arlington Heights, IL. Before moving there this year she was a longtime resident of Mt. Prospect, IL. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for close friends and family. 

June is missed by her children Jill Gifford and Jon (Ardis) Johnson. Forever remembered and cherished by her 4 grandchildren Alexandra (Andre) Narvaez, Jordan (Erin Singleton) Johnson, Matthew (Hailey) Gifford and Jenna (William) Lacy; and great-grandchildren Sophia and Liam Narvaez, Ava Johnson, Cameron Gifford and Harper Lacey. Also surviving are sisters Betty Fudala (Jerry), Barbara Kochanski (Bob), Beverley Fishleigh (late Gary), Linda Bukal and Patrica Bauer (Rich). Her husband Jon Johnson predeceased her in 2015 after 57 years of marriage and her youngest child James Johnson passed earlier this year. 

June was born June 15, 1937 to Helen (Ziemski) and Henry Kaczmarek in Chicago, IL. She married Jon Earl Johnson in 1957 and they raised their family in Mt. Prospect. They enjoyed Scrabble nights, Pasta Club card games, casino trips and were avid Cubs fans. 

June loved her 22 years as a Jewel cashier in Des Plaines enjoying both customers and co-workers. June found joy in preparing meals and finding loving gifts to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Her tiny chocolate chip cookies were family favorites.
