John C. Burch III, 42, of the Portage Park neighborhood, and formerly of the San Francisco Bay Area and Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2020. Loving husband to Mieko "Mia" Cook for 6 years. Beloved father of Elizabeth. Cherished brother of Frances Burch Bladt and Christina Burch. Dear son of John C. Burch, Jr. and the late Susan Klein Burch. John worked as a Captain for ExpressJets, United Airlines regional carrier for over fifteen years. John loved flying, was an avid outdoorsman and was interested in art and photography. He was kind hearted and beloved by his family, students, neighbors and colleagues.
