Jennifer Sagartz

November 11, 1963 — May 12, 2024

Chicago

Jennifer (Sagartz) Bornholdt of Chicago Illinois entered into eternal rest on May 12th, 2024.

Jennifer (Jen) was born at Mercy hospital in Chicago as the fourth child of Mary Susan (Rose) Bornholdt and Joseph Bornholdt on November 11th, 1963. Jen’s early childhood was spent in Avalon Park, Chicago, until her family moved to Palos Heights, Illinois, where Jen attended St. Michael’s Catholic Grammer School in Orland Park. During these years, Jen excelled in junior gymnastics, taking home numerous awards in South Side competitions.

During her junior high school years, her family relocated back to Chicago’s Southwest side (Beverly) where Jen graduated from St. Cajetan’s Catholic Grammar School and Mother MacAuley Catholic High School. Jen thrived in Beverly socially with her engaging and robust personality.  She quickly amassed an army of good friends that she stayed close with well into her adult years. During her freshman year at Mother MacAuley High School, Jen became the first and only “freshman” to ever make the Mount Carmel football cheerleading squad. Three years later, she would be named the captain of the Mount Carmel Cheerleaders during her Senior year.

Jen later attended St. Mary’s of Winona, Minnesota, graduated in 1985, and pursed a career as a real estate paralegal. After graduation, she left the South Side and resided in Old Town, Lake View, Wrigleyville and later Roger’s Park. She went to work for the law firm of Goldstein, Gurbuz & Robertson in Chicago’s loop. There she established herself as one Chicago’s top paralegals in her field. In the late 90’s Jen met and married Robert Sagartz. Soon later Jen’s only child/daughter Emma was born. Jen’s greatest gift was her uncanny ability to make people laugh in any situation and her infectious husky chuckle will be sorely missed.

Jen is survived by her loving daughter Emma Sagartz, beloved ex-husband and friend, Robert Sagartz. mother, Susan Jorgensen, brothers Michael and Mark Bornholdt, Sisters, Lisa McCormack, Kara Bornholdt and Meg Bornholdt.
