Irene Young

Irene Young, of Schiller Park, passed away peacefully on November 30 2024, at the age of 94. Born on February 25, 1930, Irene lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and a passionate love for family and friends. Irene devoted many years of her life to her work as waitress, a role that not only highlighted her strong work ethic but also her remarkable ability to connect with others. Her warm smile and genuine care for her customers made dining experiences special, and she cherished the relationships she built throughout her career. She also found great joy in her hobbies. She had a particular fondness for watching old movies, often relishing in the nostalgia they brought and the timeless stories they told. Reading was another passion of hers, providing an escape into the worlds crafted by authors she admired. Irene is survived by her loving daughter, Mary (Barry) Penda, and her cherished grandchildren, Tracy (William) and Amanda (Jeff). She was also a proud dog mom to her beloved companion, Dixie, who provided endless joy and companionship. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering spirit and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.
