George Harris Luke

George Harris Luke, 80, US Army Veteran of Northbrook, Illinois, passed away April 7, 2022. Survived by his loving sons Todd (Maria) Luke and Scott (Marie) Luke; cherished grandchildren Leydi, Marco, George and Christiana and great-grandchildren Natalia and Sofia and dear sister Julie (Arvid) Unruh. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Ruth Ann Starke. George honorably served his country in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Retired longtime veterinarian at Becker Animal Hospital in Northfield. Member of The Village Presbyterian Church of Northbrook for almost fifty years, where he and his wife both volunteered as senior high leaders. Volunteer "House League" soccer coach during four decades. George enjoyed vacations in Clam Lake with his wife Ruth, ski and canoe trips and working at Saugatuck Camp in his spare time. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11am at The Village Presbyterian Church of Northbrook 1300 Shermer Rd, Northbrook, IL 60062.
