Gary L. Bryson (Snake), 83, of Princeton, IL, entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2024.

Gary was a devoted companion to the late Marianne, who passed in 2022. He was a beloved father to Gary R. (Merinda), Elizabeth (Nick), Michael, Patrick (Kerry), and Shannon, and a cherished grandfather to Zander, Landon, Brianna, Emma, Addison, Peyton, and Colt. Gary also had the joy of being a great-grandfather to Lorelai and Hunter. 

He was husband to the late Donna (2001) and precious brother to the late James and June, and a treasured son of the late Landon and Pauline. 

Gary had a passion for traveling and, together with Marianne and their Irish Setter, Jack, he explored all 50 United States. His adventures were a testament to his love for life and his curiosity about the world.

A proud US Marine and Vietnam Veteran (1961-1965), Gary also held a deep commitment to his community through his active involvement with the Princeton Masonic Lodge.  Gary was a member of Princeton Masonic Lodge #587. He served as Master of the Lodge in 1986 and later as Secretary. He was a member of Princeton and later, Shabbona Chapter, RAM, Orion and later Oriental Council, RSM, and Princeton and Ottawa Commandery. He was a past Commander of Princeton Commandery. Gary served as Special Aide to Frank W. Smith, Past Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Illinois. He was also a member of Ruth Chapter and later Rochelle Chapter, OES. 

A celebration of Gary's life will be held in Princeton. 

The date and time will be announced.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Chicagoland Cremation Options of Schiller Park, IL.
