Elsie Ann Simek

Elsie Ann Simek (neé Janecka), 99, passed away on December 18, 2024.  

Originally from Chicago, she moved to Downers Grove to raise her family before retiring in Stevensville MI.  In 2002, she moved to Lombard and lived the past three years at Sunrise Assisted Living in Lombard.

Doting wife of the late Robert J. Simek (1998). Cherished mother of Robert (Donna) Simek and Linda Janousek Thorson. Beloved grandmother of Jeff (Leslie) Simek and Laura (Jim) Weisz and great grandmother of Ryan, Claire, and Molly Simek, Joshua, Tyler and Mason Weisz. Adored aunt of Kathy (Armand) Carpentier and Tom (Joyce) Janecka. Preceded in death by her parents Henry Janecka (1978) and Cecelia Janecka (1980) as well as her brother Hank Janecka (2016). Dear friend to many. Retired Executive Assistant to several companies including Chicago Bridge and Iron, Western Electric and USG Corporation. Proud member of Sokol West Suburban and Golden GMs.
