Duane Kirkeeng

Duane Ronald Kirkeeng passed away on January 18, 2025, at his home in Crystal Lake, Illinois, at the age of 75. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on July 26, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ella Mae Kirkeeng, his brother Jerry Kirkeeng, his two sons Ron and Kevin Kirkeeng, and their wives Mystele and Joyce Kirkeeng. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Logan Kirkeeng, Isaiah Kirkeeng, Griffin Butler, and Nolan Kirkeeng. He was a long-time employee of Pet Ag, an enthusiastic Walmart greeter, and was on the morning paper route for the Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake for many years. He enjoyed fishing, collecting model cars, and spending time with his Grandchildren. Duane was a devoted follower of Christ and attended the Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake for many years. Duane will be remembered for his uncanny ability to strike up conversation, his hard work, his excitement to spend time with family, and most of all: his dedication to and his care for his wife Ella Mae.
