Donald (Don) Lee Ten Hoven, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away April 28, 2024. Born on September 16, 1942, in Chicago, IL, where he attended Chicago Vocational High School. Don led a fulfilling life dedicated to his family, community, and country.

Don proudly served in the Army and later embarked on a successful 40 plus year career as a plumber (Local 130) for Normal Plumbing. Known for his exceptional work ethic and friendly demeanor, he made a friend everywhere he went. His kind and outgoing personality endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. After raising his family in Mokena, IL, he retired to the Northwoods of WI. Specifically Saint Germain,  where the family had vacationed for over 40 years. Don and Sharon built their dream home near friends that had become family.

In his free time, Don was an avid golfer, fisherman, artist, and Cubs fan. Don was an active member of the Headwaters Corvette Club and the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club, indulging in his love for cars and outdoor adventures. However, his proudest accomplishments were being a devoted father to Michael Ten Hoven (Anna) and Pamela (Kevin) O'Donnell, as well as, a loving grandfather to Henry Tucker and Isabelle Faber.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sharon Ten Hoven (nee Shelby), his brother Glenn, father James, and mother Jeanette. He is survived by his brother Jim Ten Hoven.

Don found joy in the simplest pleasures of life, whether it was spending hours coloring intricate pictures, cruising down the open road in his cherished Corvette, or sharing drinks and stories with friends at his favorite St. Germain and Mokena restaurants.

A man of integrity, compassion, and unwavering loyalty, Don leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace.
