Dirk T. Ellis

With deep sorrow we share the news of the death of our father, brother and grandfather Dirk Thomas Ellis.

He was born in Chicago March 20, 1956 to Barbara and Jack Fischer.  His mother later remarried and he was adopted by Jack Ellis.

He worked for many years as a union carpenter in Chicago.  He retired to Boynton Beach Florida, but had returned to Illinois 2 years ago. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, fishing, and having a beer with friends, and was well known for his mastery of trivia.

In October 2024, he was diagnosed with cancer and fought a tough battle with the disease until his death January 3, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary.  He is survived by daughters Jennifer Singson and Danielle Ellis, as well as grandchildren Ilamae, Shayn, Wyatt, and Christian.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
