Dessa dedicated her career to providing healthcare environmental services at Mount Sinai Hospital. For many years, she worked tirelessly to ensure that patients and staff had a clean and safe environment. Her commitment to her work was unwavering, and she made a significant impact in the lives of those around her.
Dessa will be remembered for her infectious laughter and warm smile. Her sense of humor brought joy to everyone she encountered, and she had a knack for lightening the mood in any situation. Dessa's laughter was contagious, brightening up even the darkest of days.
Loving and caring are two words that perfectly describe Dessa's personality. She had a heart full of compassion and was always there for her family and friends whenever they needed support. Her kind nature left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Outside of work, Dessa found great joy in various hobbies and interests. Sewing and cooking were two activities that allowed her to express her creativity and love for creating something beautiful out of simple materials. She also had a passion for music and singing, which brought solace to her soul. Being an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls basketball team was another source of excitement for Dessa.
Family was at the center of Dessa's world. She adored each member with all her heart and cherished every moment spent together. Dessa is survived by her loving children Modesty Bridges, Resha Payne, and Byron Payne. Her grandchildren Dominique Bridges, Deondria Bridges, Lance Bridges, Kardell Payne, Larry Bridges, Devonta Booker, and Nesha Booker and sister Idella Price and a host of family and friends who were deeply cherished by their doting grandmother. Additionally, Dessa joins her son Delbert Bridges, grandson Erik Bridges, father David Payne, mother Inez Holiday, brother Leroy Payne, nieces Cocinette Smith,Rochette Smith, aunt Elizabeth, Uncle David, and grandmother Idella Mcduffy
Dessa Payne's presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering love, infectious laughter, and caring nature will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have been touched by her light. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire for generations to come.
