Debra Diane Alexander

Debra Alexander, 63, of Chicago, Illinois, and formerly of Hughes, Arkansas passed away surrounded by her beloved family and friends Friday evening, June 9, 2023.    

Debra was a longtime Witness of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Chicago. She loved cooking, grilling, listening to music, watching black and white films, gardening, and was committed to spending time with her family and friends. 

Debra is survived by her loving children Tamika Barton (Antonio), Tawanna Barton, Sam Turner, Jr. (Nakia), Astria Alexander and Brandy Alexander; 11 cherished and adored grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, Racquel Owens, Shealyn Barton, Calvin Moore III,  Amanie Alexander, Princess-Samiya Turner, Cameron Givens, Champ Turner, Amari Peeples, Payton Givens, Ayden Peeples, Axel Alexander and Adelina Moore; siblings Verna Barton, Barbara Adams (Robert), Alan Barton, Dora Huff, Moses Barton, Brenda Peppers, and Anthony Barton. Debra was preceded in death by parents Essie Lee Barton, Willie Lee Barton, Sr.; siblings Shirley Barton, and Wille Barton, Jr.; brother-in-law Wilson Peppers, Plerlensia Huff, and Cavin McFarland.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 435 West Evergreen, Chicago, IL 60610.
