Christine Klonowski Boggs, 85, of Algonquin, IL, passed peacefully on November 17th, 2024. Proud mother of Craig Boggs (Jennifer), Christopher "Chip" Boggs (Karen), Kelly Barna (Tim), Corrine Helm (Dan), and Casey Boggs (Nicole). Loving grandmother to fourteen grandchildren; Carson, Joe, Christy and Finnegan Boggs, Cameron and Cooper Boggs, Cal and Jacob Barna, Madison, Michaela, Mitchell and Maddox Helm, and Luke and Tabor Boggs. Beloved sibling of the late Mary Ann Weaver, Bernadette Rozenbaum, and Patricia Kobleck.
Christine was born to Genevieve and Ignatious Klonowski in Detroit, MI. She graduated from Chadsey High School and was a lifelong Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. Christine was married to Don Paul Boggs for eighteen years, and raised five children in Havana, IL where she was a Boy Scout Den Mother, member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, avid golfer, bridge player and school volunteer.
Christine moved to Dunlap, IL and received her Paralegal Degree. She worked in law until wonderlust took her to Santa Barbara, California. She was active in the Santa Barbara hospitality community where she remained until returning to Illinois when her favorite role, Grandmother began. Christine was at her happiest being with her grandchildren. There are endless stories of playing cards and board games (it often wasn't pretty), baking cookies, crafting, and decorating for every holiday. She was extremely proud of her Polish heritage and worked to instill that same pride in her children and grandchildren exposing them to Polish traditions, foods and history. All positve characteristics and talents were always attributed to "Your Polish genes!" She attended every possible sporting event her grandchildren participated in, combining her love for athletics with her adoration of the grandkids.
Christine adored gardening, theaters, Broadway musicals, baking (especially apple pies), thrift shopping, decorating, and spending time with her family including beloved nieces and nephews and their children. She enjoyed cooking and throwing themed parties, always giving her heart to ensure others had a good time. In her later years, Christine, a lifelong Catholic, taught sacramental preparation classes as she continued to pass her faith on to another generation of children. It was her students that brought Christine unexpected purpose and endless joy in retirement. Her Church and Prayer Warrior girlfriend groups provided much solace as Christine's mobility lessened. The friendships she created during her Golden years were some of her closest.
She believed in happy endings and was able to enjoy her final days surrounded by her children and loved ones celebrating a life well lived. Her remarkable spirit and can do attitude touched many lives as she truly was one of a kind to anyone who met Christine. Her family is endlessly grateful to the amazing caregivers who assisted our Mother allowing her to remain independent to the very end. You are truly angels and have touched our family beyond measure.
Her wishes were for any donations to be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntley, IL, or JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL.
Arrangements entrusted with Chicagoland Cremation Options of Schiller Park, IL.
