Carollyn Knowles

Carollyn Jean Knowles was an extremely loving wife, mother and grandmother who departed this world on October 6, 2024. 

She was born in Chicago January 09, 1948 to parents Raymond and Minnie Bowie. Carollyn attended Loyola University where she earned a BA in Sociology and met the love of her life, Clarence Knowles, who preceded her in death. She was an amazing mother to her daughters CaRhonda and Caryn and doting grandmother to her namesake Carollyn Knowles Bailey. 

Carollyn worked as a registered Social Worker starting her career at Illinois Department of Public Aid, going on to work for Visiting Nurses Association, Medcare HMO, Trinity Hospital and Harmony Health Plan. Carollyn worked with and supported community action groups and political caucuses to give back and make a difference. After retiring Carollyn continued her service to her community by substitute teaching for Chicago public schools. She also expressed her life long passion for politics working elections until prevented due to her health.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. Anonymous
