Tony Amigleo

Antonio “Tony” Avelino Amigleo, born on November 10, 1959, in the Philippines, began his life’s journey with a spirit of adventure and a heart full of love. At the young age of eight, Tony and his family emigrated to the United States, settling in Streamwood, IL. He proudly called Chicago home, where he built a life rich with cherished memories, deep connections, and friendships that spanned decades.

Tony passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 12, 2024, following a planned surgery in Arlington Heights. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Tony was larger than life, both personally and professionally. He built a long, successful career in Business Development within the Office Furniture industry, where he was not just a colleague but a mentor and a friend. Known for his ability to close deals, Tony had a gift for generating ideas and ways of working that were outside the norms. Tony’s real magic, though, was bringing people together. His rich network of friends and associates is a testament to his deep belief in people and his love of connecting with them and connecting others in life and in business.

Beyond his professional achievements, Tony’s greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He leaves behind his beloved fiancée, Beth Hicks, his dearly loved daughter, Shauna Amigleo, and his cherished grandson, Devyn Grant. Tony’s immediate family will forever hold his memory close, including his adoring mother, Miguelita Amigleo, loving father, Danilo Amigleo, and treasured siblings Mary (Ron) Misjak, Joe (Misty) Amigleo, Jessica (Larry) Silvestri, and Valerie (Bob) Goetsch. He also leaves behind a close-knit extended family of nieces, nephews, and relatives in the U.S. and the Philippines.

A man of deep Catholic faith, Tony believed in doing good in the world and “being the light” for others. He was fiercely protective of those he loved and did his best to show up for those around him. His faith was his guiding light, and he was inspired to share his beliefs, lessons learned, and wisdom inspired by others through his weekly “Tony’s Tuesday Nuggets”.

Tony's passions were as vibrant as his magnetic personality. He was the guy you wanted to be near at a party or event, always ready with a joke or to laugh (often at himself), or grab a drink and a cigar and have a great time or conversation. He loved music, playing guitar and piano, singing, listening to live music and doing a quick dance move anytime he caught a good beat. His love of good food is legendary, but nothing could top the happiness and freedom he felt being outdoors on Lake Michigan on his wave runner whether solo, with his grandson, fiancée, brother or crew at Diversey Harbor. His love for life was infectious, and he lived each day to the fullest.

Tony’s legacy is one of love, faith, joy and gratitude. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends, his deep-rooted faith, and his boundless enthusiasm for life. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Tony. Your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
