February 14, 1950 — April 26, 2020

Gail Brown, completed her life journey on 04/26/20. She was born in Chicago, IL on 02/14/50, the daughter of Dale and Lois Fordyce who both preceded her in death. Gail was also preceded in death this past June, by her beloved husband of 51 years, Dewayne (Mike) Brown. Loving mother of Kimberly Brown, and the late Dewayne Jr. Beloved grandmother to Taylor Wayne Jacklin, Ryan Allen Jacklin, and Liam Matthew Barwald. Cherished sister of Paula (Ernie) Spatola, James Fordyce, Pam (Steve) Davis, and half-brother Dale Richard (Vivian) Fordyce. Loving aunt of Tina (Darin) Mainwaring and Timothy Tacker and great aunt of Taryn and Taylor Mainwaring. Gail attended, and was part of the first graduating class at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. She loved cats and was the “go to” drop off person for anyone with abandoned cats or kittens. Gail also spayed or neutered hundreds of feral cats in her neighborhood at her own expense, in addition to fostering and/ or adopting dozens of cats over her lifetime. Gail’s family wishes to express their deepest and heartfelt gratitude to the many healthcare workers and friends who cared and supported Gail throughout her extended illness. Their care and compassion will not be forgotten. In respect with Gail’s wishes, arrangements have been entrusted to Chicagoland Cremation Options of Schiller Park, Illinois. In Gail’s honor, donations may be made to Friedman Place at 5527 N. Maplewood Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. Friedman Place is a nonprofit Supportive Living Community for adults who are blind or visually impaired.
